A bracelet may help a little, but not always.

You may feel knocked down without ideas on how and where to start heal.

It may be a struggle to even get started.

If you feel in danger for yourself or others - do not hesitate to get in touch with emergency care in your local country.

Most likely you will get overwhelmed by ads in social media on burn out and exhaustion as soon as you start google on how to get well. All from foot detox, acupuncture, vagus nerve reset, meditation apps, floating, Chinese herbs, copping, diets, botox and yoga may cross your feeds. These may all be good suggestions but first and foremost consult with your doctor in primary care as soon as possible to get a clear direction of routes and therapies to apply for your specific case.

It can be hard to take in and accept a simple "take care of yourself" but this will guide you in the very first hands on actions.

Here comes a few suggestions on how to break through and go deeper than just reply "I'm fine" when someone asking how you are.

"Ok, so how does it feel on the inside?"

"What is it that make things so good that you are telling me?"

If you use a feedback method (SBI) to get closer to the topic you may think in the following steps;

  1. Situation - "I get worried when I see you not taking any breaks"
  2. Behavior - "May I ask you about how you feel and are thinking to improve this?"
  3. Impact - "The risk I see is that you hurt yourself, but I'm here to support you."

Another few tips to follow as fellow human could be:

  • Show and confirm you are listening - avoid own stories, simply nod and have eye contact
  • Be patient - the person you are asking my not be ready to tell everything at once or even over a few hang outs
  • Take a walk - fresh air (yes, syre (oxygen) is at our heart) will fuel both physical and mental wellbeing
  • Normalize the fact that everyone could feel bad at times
  • Change focus to something that used to be or could be fun - watch a movie together, cook some food, play a game
